The Beauty and Death: Divine Elegance Fascinator Collection is a body of entirely handmade, one-of-a-kind fascinators created with real bone, fur, feathers, and other taxidermy elements, brought together with lace, leather, pleather, ribbon, filigree, crystals, jewels, and carefully selected pieces of jewelry.
My connection to these materials goes far beyond their gothic beauty. When I work with bone, fur, feathers, or taxidermy, I remain conscious that they once belonged to a living being. They are not simply decorative objects or materials to be used without thought. They are physical traces of a life that existed—a life that moved through the natural world and left something behind.
To me, working with these remains is an act of reverence. Rather than allowing them to be discarded, overlooked, or forgotten, I treat them with care and transform them into something that can be seen, appreciated, and honored. Their beauty did not disappear when life ended; it changed form.
Death is part of nature, just as life, growth, transformation, and renewal are. Bone reminds us of what remains beneath the surface. Fur and feathers carry the textures, movement, and character of the creatures they once belonged to. By placing these natural elements alongside lace, jewels, metalwork, and other ornate details, I bring the raw and the refined together—the wild and the elegant, mortality and beauty, darkness and radiance.
Each fascinator begins with its own combination of materials and develops intuitively as I work. I allow the shape of the bone, the direction of the feathers, the texture of the fur, and the character of each embellishment to guide the finished design. Because every natural element is different and every detail is placed by hand, no two fascinators can ever be exactly the same.
